Huntsman signs more than 200 bills into law

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Driving cards issued to illegal immigrants in Utah will no longer be acceptable to buy alcohol.

The cards allow illegal immigrants to drive cars and buy vehicle insurance.

Under a bill signed Tuesday by Gov. Jon Huntsman, the cards can't be used to buy alcohol or guns. The law also prohibits using the card as proof of age for any other government requirement.

Huntsman so far has signed more than 200 bills into law.

Liquor can be sold in bars and restaurants on election day. The state is creating an office of coal mine safety, and also permanently revoking the licenses of educators who have sex with students.

Huntsman signed bills that make torturing a dog or a cat a felony, require booster seats for children under age 8, and increase the amount of auto insurance coverage.
