Hundreds of dogs are expected in 2010

FARMINGTON, Utah (AP) -- It could be hard to buy a dog biscuit around here.

Davis County commissioners approved a deal to bring the German Shepherd Dog Club of America -- and 600 to 1,000 dogs -- to the events center in October 2010.

"It will show the dog world that we can handle any size of show," said Curtis Koch, assistant manager of the county-owned center.

The county will get $16,209 in rental fees, plus $9,000 to place 23,100 square feet of sod on the center's dirt floor.

After the dog show, the county plans to move the grass to the fairgrounds.
