SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- As Wall Street continues to wonder if a merger will ever happen, the stock of Delta Air Lines continues to fall.

Delta has been in talks with Northwest Airlines for the past two months about a possible combination. Those talks had driven the stock values of both companies to their highest points this year in early February. But values have been sliding since then.

The hurdle apparently is that pilots at both carriers can't agree on a way to combine their unions and assign seniority.

Delta's stock was almost $19 per share on Feb. 1 but has fallen to less than $16.
