SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Hogle Zoo is one step closer to getting a $65 million bond on the November ballot.
The Salt Lake County Debt Review Committee reviewed the plan and decided yesterday it was a safe financial investment.
The zoo wants the money to expand and remodel some animal exhibits.
With the committee's favorable recommendation, the zoo only needs the County Council's approval to put the measure before voters.
If voters pass the bond, annual county property taxes would jump by about $10 on a $250,000 home over the next two decades.
