Committee says citizens can't file complaints against elected officials

(KSL News) The House Rules Committee killed an ethics commission bill that would have allowed citizens to file complaints against any state elected official.

Currently there's not a way citizens can file ethics complaints against the governor, attorney general, auditor or treasurer.

Both the House and Senate have internal ethics committees, but only fellow colleagues can bring a complaint.
