(KSL News) -- A bill designed to help low income pet owners spay and neuter their animals has passed a house committee.
The services would be paid for from a special fund paid for by tax payers who elect to give money through their state returns.
Supporters of the bill say between four and six thousand pets could be fixed through the program, leading to a drop in unwanted pets in the state.
It now goes before the full House.
