CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) -- The population boom in southern Utah is leading to a new ZIP code.
Postal customers living north of 200 North will now be in zone 84721. The change starts Tuesday and affects about 7,000 addresses in northern Cedar City and Enoch.
Postal officials say the old ZIP code will still be processed for a year, allowing people to notify senders that there has been a change in the mailing address.
The postal service is working to notify major businesses, banks and utility and credit card companies of the change.
