Bad economy affecting Arc of Utah

(KSL News) The economic crisis could spell the end for a Utah group dedicated to helping the intellectually disabled.

The Arc of Utah says donations to the organization have dropped by nearly 50 percent in the past year. Now the organization is almost $70,000 in debt and having to consider bankruptcy.

The Arc is a non-profit organization that receives no state funding and works with an all-volunteer staff to provide training, education, advocacy, referral services, and social opportunities to more than 3,500 intellectually disabled Utahns each year.
