Third man from Herriman now connected to case of missing South Jordan teen, warrant shows

SOUTH JORDAN — A third man is now under investigation in the case of missing 15-year-old, according to a newly unsealed search warrant obtained by KSL. The warrant details disturbing communications between the teen and a 41-year-old Herriman man. The man was later identified as Samual Teancum MItchell, 41.

As of this publication date, KSL TV is not naming the man because he had not been criminally charged on Wednesday. However, the warrant outlines probable cause for the search of his home and phone, citing evidence of potential crimes, including enticement of a minor and exploitation of a minor.

According to the affidavit, South Jordan police discovered the man’s identity through messages found on the girl's iPad, which was located in her bedroom after she was reported missing on April 21.

The iPad contained extensive conversations between Alisa and a Discord user. The chats were sexual in nature and included discussions about meeting in person, condoms, and references to sexual games.

The final message from Alisa to the man, was sent on April 19 at 12:34 a.m. It read: “I’M RUNNING AWAY. Please don’t contact me.”

The warrant also reveals that the man and Alisa had multiple video calls. She also shared her Snapchat username with him. Investigators believe some messages may have been deleted.

Authorities traced the Discord account to an IP address in West Jordan and linked it to the 41-year-old man through a phone number he shared in the chat. A photo from the Discord account matched the man’s Utah DMV photo.

South Jordan police said they couldn’t comment on their investigation into the Herriman man but said their search for the girl remains very active.

This is the third man tied to Alisa’s disappearance. Two others have already been charged by the Utah Attorney General’s Office.

William Taylor Glines, 37, is in custody in Texas. However, the Attorney General’s Office said the second suspect, Matthew Nicholas Menard, 35, of Florida, had still not been located as of Wednesday.

According to an earlier search warrant, Miami police previously contacted Menard at his Florida home and seized his phone, which was sent to South Jordan police for analysis.

Court records show Menard has retained attorneys in Bountiful. KSL TV contacted them requesting comment, but did not hear back as of Wednesday.

The girl is classified as a runaway juvenile who is endangered. Her family is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to her safe return.

Anyone with information on the girl's whereabouts was urged to contact South Jordan police.
