SALT LAKE CITY — A woman who was in critical condition after a car accident Tuesday died in the hospital, police said.
Audra Howey, 35, was the second person to die as a result of the crash on 2910 S. 700 East, the Unified Police Department said Thursday. Kari Lynn Wartenbe, 43, died on the day of the accident.
Wartenbe was making a left turn onto 700 East in a Hyundai Sonata when her vehicle was struck by an oncoming Infinity car, police said. Howey was a passenger in the Sonata.
The crash ended in the front yard of several residents just north of the intersection and damaged two fences, according to Lt. Justin Hoyal of the Unified Police Department. The 17-year-old driver of the Infinity was also transported to Intermountain Medical Center in serious condition.
Investigators said there was no indication that speed was a factor in the accident. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
