LAS VEGAS (AP) — Members of a powerful Las Vegas hotel union are planning a vote next month that could empower organizers to call for a strike. The Culinary union is negotiating over contracts that cover about 10,000 Las Vegas workers. The union says contract talks have not ended in a strike since 1991, when workers picketed the Frontier casino for more than 6 years.

Armando Vergara-Martinez speaks of betrayal in the letter before the 2012 attack on Maria Del Carmen Gomez. He's conceding guilt on mayhem and domestic battery with a weapon charges but is fighting an attempted murder charge.
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A former Reno City Councilwoman is asking the Nevada Supreme Court to reconsider its ruling that disqualified her and other term-out council members from running for mayor. Jessica Sferrazza and current Councilman Dwight Dortch had argued that the mayor is a separate office, so council term limits don't apply.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Jubilee!, the campy Las Vegas show with over-the-top costumes, chorus boys and showgirls, is reopening next month with an updated vibe. The longest-running show on the Strip is set to make its return at Bally's Las Vegas hotel-casino on March 17.
