SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah won't be abandoning daylight saving time.
Lawmakers voted down a proposal Tuesday that would have kept Utah on Mountain Standard Time the entire year, rather than switching between standard and daylight time each spring and fall.
Rep. Ken Sumsion, an American Fork Republican, says he doesn't care whether Utah is on Mountain Standard Time or Mountain Daylight Time, but he says Utah needs to pick one and stick with it.
A Utah House committee disagreed. House Bill 288 was defeated on a 6-3 vote.
