The blast blew a 70-foot crater in Highway 6 and sent at least 20 people to the hospital with hearing loss and shrapnel wounds.

Investigators determined Stewart was driving too fast for the conditions. Today, he pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges.

Stewart entered his plea in abeyance, meaning the charges will be wiped off his record if he stays out of trouble for the next year and pays a $500 fine.
