BOX ELDER COUNTY -- A semi and a minivan collided in Box Elder County Tuesday morning. The accident sent one person to the hospital.

Utah Highway Patrol Troopers say the driver of a minivan drifted into oncoming traffic on state Route 30 near the state Route 38 junction. The van slammed into a semi head-on.

The driver of the minivan, 28-year-old Shawn Croney of Tremonton, had to be cut from the vehicle and was airlifted to McKay-Dee Hospital in critical condition. The driver of the semi truck was treated and released on scene.

UHP closed all lanes for several hours as crews cleaned up the mess.
