OGDEN -- A man and a dog were injured during a house fire in Ogden Saturday morning.
Firefighters were called to the 2900 block of Monroe Boulevard around 10 a.m. When they arrived, they found heavy smoke and fire coming from the windows, doors and part of the roof of the house.
The Deseret News reports three men driving nearby spotted the smoke, went to the home and helped an elderly man get out of the house.

Firefighters say the man and a dog were injured in the fire. The man was treated at the scene and then taken to McKay-Dee Hospital. The dog was taken by animal control. No word on the extent of their injuries.
Firefighters say the structure is a total loss with an approximate value of $60,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
