MURRAY - A broken water main kept crews in Murray busy Saturday. Inches of water covered streets near 5200 South and 900 East.
Homeowner Gary Platt said, "My wife and I were making plum jam this morning, and I got a call or a ring at the doorbell, and there was a fire department guy out there, and he said, ‘Do you know you're being flooded?' And I had no idea what was going on."
Fire officials say the flooding was so bad because earlier rainfall had already caused the drains to plug up.
They had to close northbound lanes on 900 East for about two hours to clean up the mess.
No homes were damaged.
