(KSL News) -- The Granite Board of Education approved a new policy that requires parents on the state's sex offender registry to call their children's school before visiting.
The policy is aimed at allowing parents who are convicted sex offenders to take part in their child's education while still restricting their access to other students.
The new policy also requires someone to be with or within eyesight of the convicted sex-offender parent at all times during the school visit.
