NEPHI -- An armed man held Nephi police at bay for a short time Friday night.

The standoff began Friday evening as a domestic dispute when the man threatened to kill his wife. The wife was able to get out of the home, but the man stayed inside.

Several police officers and a SWAT team responded to the area of 450 North and 600 East and surrounded the home.

The Nephi police chief tells us the incident ended nearly two hours after it started when the man gave himself up. No one was injured.

The man is now in custody. Police aren't releasing his name, but residents tell us he is a member of a prominent Nephi family.
