PROVO -- Search and rescue crews are out looking for a 95-year-old man who went missing Friday while hiking in Utah County.

The search is in the Rock Canyon area just east of BYU. Provo police officers say George Jarvis left around 11:30 a.m. and told his wife he was taking a hike, but he never came back.

Jarvis also has some medical issues. "He has Parkinson's disease. He gets confused. He has no water. He's known to fall down, and they've had to rescue him before. And if he does fall down, he can't get up on his own," said Provo police Sgt. Scott Jensen.

There have been several reported sightings of Jarvis. The most recent report is that someone saw him at Canyon View Park, just inside the mouth of Provo Canyon. Crews are now concentrating on that area.

Search and rescue teams are scouring the area on foot, horseback and with ATVs. There are also two helicopters searching from above.

A Utah Highway Patrol chopper has night vision and forward infrared, so the search will continue into the night.
