(KSL News) -- The former mayor of Eagle Mountain accused of misusing public funds was in court today.

Brian Olsen is charged with seven felony counts of misusing public funds. Prosecutors say Olsen was reimbursed for expenses that he wasn't entitled to. He resigned from his position, after being in office less than a year.

Olsen is fighting the charges, and is now waiting to see the evidence against him.

Ken Brown, Defense Attorney: "Obviously we'll take a look at that it's certainly not something that happened intentionally and so we'll just have to go from there."

Olsen will be back in court in January.
