HOLLADAY -- The T.G.I. Friday's restaurant near the Cottonwood Mall at 4805 Highland Drive is closing Saturday. It was the first T.G.I. Friday's in Utah and has been there more than 20 years.

The Utah-based Slaymaker Group, which owns several T.G.I. Friday's and Wingers restaurants in Utah and the Intermountain West says business has dropped off dramatically since the demolition of the Cottonwood Mall.

The company says the lack of progress with rebuilding the Cottonwood Mall has made it impossible for them to keep the restaurant open.
