(KSL News) -- One Sandy family's home makeover is moving along, but their home isn't the only one getting help.

An organization called Heart 2 Home is building the Smeltzer family a new home. Several members of the family have a genetic disease and they need wheelchair access.

Not only are contractors ahead schedule by a day but about 150 volunteers went into the neighborhood today to spruce up yards.

Tiffany Berg, Heart 2 Home: "It's been amazing to see the neighbors come out on the porches in the evenings and stand around and just like the good old days really put their arms around each other more like a family"

Heart 2 home says this is a way to pay back neighbors for their patience and the food they've given contractors.

The Smeltzer family is in Bear Lake relaxing and the big unveiling will be Tuesday night.
