(KSL News) -- A measure on the November ballot asks Salt Lake County voters to approve a tax increase to preserve open space.
Proposition Two allows for the preservation and acquisition of land for regional parks. If approved, the project will raise property taxes by 0.03 percent.
Council members feel the benefits of this proposal outweigh the costs.
Jenny Wilson, Salt Lake City County Council: "That we have these great recreation opportunities and that we have opportunities for our kids to play in environments that they find enriching."
The proposition will also plan for and handle population growth in Utah. For more information, look for your voter information pamphlet expected to be in your mailbox soon.
