(KSL News) The man killed by a fire at a West Jordan business has been identified as 63-year-old John T. Williams III.

Williams' body was found inside the Adroit Screw Machine Products building at 3450 W. 8500 South in West Jordan after a 3-alarm fire there Friday afternoon.

Family members say Williams started working for the company 14 years ago after retiring from a job with the Rio Grand Railroad.

Williams' brother-in-law, Scott Crawford, told KSL Williams loved the outdoors. Yellowstone National Park and Bear Lake were his favorite places to visit.

His family describes him as fun-loving and "a gentle giant." They say he would help anyone, even if he didn't feel well.

He is survived by his wife and many nieces and nephews. Crawford says Williams was very close to his extended family.
