(KSL News) -- "I've walked a hundred miles to get here today and I'll walk 400 more for peace in Iraq."
From Idaho to Arizona, Army Reserve Sergeant Marshall Thompson walked into Salt Lake City today as part of a state-long trek to call for troops to be withdrawn from Iraq.
Thompson served a year in Iraq and says ongoing fighting in Iraq will not keep Americans safer at home.
Sgt. Marshall Thompson, Army Reservist: "We need to stop making decisions on fears of things that might happen and start making them on truth."
Thompson started his walk on Monday and will make the trip in 27 days -- one for every 100 American soldiers killed in war.
