(KSL News) A helicopter has crashed in the western part of the Salt Lake Valley, possibly at a gravel pit near 6600 South, west of state Highway 111.
We have no official word yet, but from police scanners we have learned a pilot and co-pilot were on board.
After the crash, the pilot called his father, who owns the helicopter. He told him they are both injured, and the co-pilot was hurt more seriously and was having trouble breathing.
We have a crew on the way to the scene and will bring you more information as soon as it becomes available.
