OGDEN — An Ogden man already facing multiple felonies stemming from the alleged kidnapping of a girl last year that resulted in an Amber Alert now faces new charges accusing him of sexual misconduct involving two other teen girls.
Christopher Wiggins, 34, was charged Monday with two counts of object rape, a first-degree felony, and a count of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony.
The allegations leading to the new charges emerged during the investigation into the kidnapping and sexual assault case involving a 13-year-old girl he took from her home in Ogden to Colorado, according to charging documents. The three new counts stem from alleged sexual contact Wiggins had with two other girls, ages 15 and 16, in an incident that occurred sometime between Nov. 26, 2023, and Nov. 25, 2024.
The two girls "disclosed this happened in a home in North Ogden where the defendant was living at the time," the charges state.
In the case leading to the Amber Alert on Nov. 26 last year, prosecutors filed nine charges against Wiggins, including individual counts of child kidnapping, sodomy on a child, rape of a child and aggravated sexual abuse of a child and four counts of object rape of a child, all first-degree felonies. He also faces a count of obstruction of justice in that case, a second-degree felony. A hearing in that case is set for June 17 in Ogden's 2nd District Court.
The Amber Alert last year was issued after the 13-year-old girl had been reported missing earlier in the afternoon. Wiggins, a family friend, had been living with the girl's family "for some time," according to police. The girl was found safe a few hours later near Fort Collins, Colorado, and Wiggins was arrested.
Wiggins is being held in the Weber County Jail.
