SANDY — A Crown Burgers restaurant has closed indefinitely after an attic fire broke out above the kitchen and spread to the roof of the Utah burger chain before being extinguished Thursday morning.

Sandy Fire Chief Ryan McConaghie said the restaurant, located at 9604 S. State, suffered significant smoke damage throughout its kitchen and lobby area. Additionally, two HVAC units on the roof were damaged in the blaze.

McConaghie added that the location will be closed until cleaning and renovation can take place.
