SPRINGVILLE — A Springville couple has been arrested and accused of sexually abusing a young girl.

Jeffery Reed Webb, 48, was arrested Monday for investigation of two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, two counts of rape of a child, two counts of sodomy of a child, three counts of lewdness involving a child and two counts of unlawful kissing of a child.

Exonnie Nicole Hitchcok, 35, was arrested for investigation of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, sodomy on a child and lewdness involving a child.

The investigation began in March after "both adults no longer had contact with the victim," and the girl disclosed the abuse, according to a police booking affidavit. The girl, who is under the age of 10, told investigators about multiple incidents of sexual abuse by both adults.

The couple denied abusing the girl when questioned by detectives, according to police.

Webb has a lengthy drug-related criminal history, including being convicted of drug possession with intent to distribute on April 2. He is scheduled to be sentenced in that case on May 21.
