WEST JORDAN — A man is dead after a house fire early Thursday.
Crews were called to a fire at 8556 S. Susan Way just before 1 a.m. Thursday. Upon arrival, they didn't see any flames but heavy smoke coming from the house, said West Jordan Fire Battalion Chief Travis Ball.
After entering the home, firefighters discovered a man inside. They removed him from the house, treated him and transported him to a hospital, where he was declared dead. The man, whose identity has not yet been released, was the lone occupant of the house.
Ball said fire officials don't yet know what caused the fire, and an investigation is ongoing.
