ST. GEORGE — Hurricane made sure Dixie's homecoming night wouldn't end with a celebration, rolling to a 49-2 victory behind a lights-out defense and a three-touchdown performance from running back Austyn McRoberts.

The Tigers wasted no time, striking first with a touchdown with 6:49 left in the opening quarter. Moments later, McRoberts powered in his first score of the night, giving Hurricane a quick 14-0 lead.

Dixie answered only with a safety to close the quarter, but the Flyers couldn't slow the Tigers' momentum.

In the second quarter, sophomore Titan Borchardt came up with an interception that set up Brody Jacobs for a short touchdown run, sending Hurricane into halftime with a 21-2 cushion.

The Tigers opened the third quarter right where they left off, tacking on another touchdown before Borchardt snagged his second interception, which McRoberts quickly turned into six. McRoberts struck again late in the quarter, extending the lead to 42-2.

The defense saved its biggest highlight for the fourth when Borchardt intercepted a pass for the third time and returned it nearly 80 yards. A few plays later, Ryder Allred punched in the final score, sealing the 49-2 statement win.

Hurricane's defense forced turnovers all night. Dixie, meanwhile, never found its rhythm in front of the homecoming crowd.
