OGDEN — An Ogden man is facing criminal charges accusing him of trying to kill his wife.

Alberto Domingo Seco, 35, was charged Monday in 2nd District Court with attempted murder, a first-degree felony; two counts of aggravated assault, a third-degree felony; plus assault and making a threat of violence, class B misdemeanors.

In June, a woman reported to police that she had gotten into an argument with her husband, Seco.

"During the argument, Alberto held a knife up to (her) and held the blade against her left cheek and told her he was going to kill her," according to charging documents. The woman was able to break free momentarily, but Seco then allegedly pinned her down on their bed.

"He then put his hands around her neck and added pressure, making it very difficult for her to breathe. He again told her he was going to kill her while doing this," the charges allege.

The woman was then punched in the face multiple times, according to the charges. She was able to break free and ran outside to call the police. Seco also ran out of the apartment and went to his car.

"When he was in his vehicle, he suddenly accelerated toward (the woman) and she had to jump out of the way. Officers were able to view and obtain the security camera footage of the apartment complex and confirm (the woman's) account," the charges state. "It was clear that Alberto had accelerated toward her with the sole purpose of striking her with his vehicle."

Ogden police found Seco on Saturday and booked him into the Weber County Jail.
