LEHI — A 20-year-old man was arrested early Sunday for nearly doubling the speed limit on I-15, according to police.

The Lehi man was arrested at about 2:30 a.m. for investigation of reckless driving and exhibition driving on the highway.

A Utah Highway Patrol trooper was sitting in his patrol car on southbound I-15 in Utah County running radar when an Audi S6 with no license plate passed him going 136 mph in a 70-mph zone, according to a police booking affidavit.

"I activated my emergency lights and siren, then initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle," the trooper wrote in the affidavit.

The vehicle was pulled over in Lehi and the driver was arrested.
