MIDVALE — A motorcyclist died Thursday evening after hitting the wall of an I-215 on-ramp in Midvale, troopers said.

The crash happened on southbound I-215 at the westbound ramp from Union Park, Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cam Roden said.

The motorcyclist failed to negotiate a curve and hit the wall of the flyover on-ramp, which launched him over the wall 30 feet down, Roden said.

The rider was described only as male. His name and age have not yet been released.

Speed is being investigated as a factor in the crash.

I-215 in that area was temporarily closed after the crash.
