ST. GEORGE — A LaVerkin, Washington County, man reportedly stole an off-road vehicle in Ivins before driving to St. George, where he broke into a residence and was confronted by the homeowner, police said.
On Monday, officers responded to a residential burglary reported shortly before 6:30 a.m. on East 2080 South in St. George.
The caller told police that a man had entered the home through an unlocked garage door and was found in the kitchen "actively eating their food," the officer noted in the police booking affidavit filed in support of the arrest.
When confronted, the suspect reportedly told the homeowner "that God led him there to find a wife," the report continued.
Following the confrontation, the homeowner reported the burglar was wearing gold chains and no shirt as he drove away from the home on a red ATV, as officers were dispatched to the area.
