MILLCREEK — Unified Fire Authority is conducting a criminal investigation into a fire that destroyed a Millcreek house on Thursday.

About 11 a.m., Unified firefighters responded to a house fire at 3058 S. Lake Circle. When they arrived, the home was fully involved with smoke and flames.

The firefighters located the origin of the fire in the kitchen and got the blaze under control quickly, said Unified spokesman Benjamin Porter. The home is considered a total loss, he added.

No one was inside the house during the fire, and the cause is under investigation, Porter said Thursday.

Just before 5 p.m., the fire agency announced it had launched a criminal investigation into the cause of the fire. No one is in custody yet, the agency said.
