GRANTSVILLE — A man was found dead, and a woman was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound Wednesday following what Grantsville police are calling a domestic violence incident.
Just before 10 a.m., Grantsville police received a report of a domestic violence incident involving a firearm at a residence near West Street and Utah Drive. When officers arrived, they located an injured woman on the porch with "an apparent gunshot wound to the head," Grantsville police said in a statement.
The woman was moved from the porch and treated by paramedics before she was transported to a hospital, the statement says. Police did not specify what condition she was in.
After obtaining a warrant, Grantsville police and the Tooele County SWAT team searched the home and discovered a deceased man inside with a gunshot wound. His identity was not released Wednesday.
The State Bureau of Investigation was called in to process the scene and conduct the investigation to determine what led to the shooting. Grantsville police said it appears no other individuals were involved, and there is no threat to the public.
