WEST VALLEY CITY — A West Valley man accused of providing alcohol and marijuana cartridges to teenage girls in exchange for sex acts has been arrested again, a little over a week after his prior charges were dismissed.
Uriel Quijano Vazquez, 23, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on Sunday for investigation of rape, forcible sodomy and sexual exploitation of a minor.
The investigation began Saturday when a 15-year-old Kaysville girl "was texting family saying, 'Help me' and 'I'm not safe,'" according to a police booking affidavit. The mother later got a text from the daughter saying she was now with a family friend, but she had been raped by a man in West Valley City.
Police met up with the teen at Primary Children's Hospital. She told officers that earlier in the day she was using Snapchat and "posted a public story asking for anyone selling a bottle," the affidavit states. An unidentified man responded and sent an Uber to pick the girl up and bring her to his residence.
Once she arrived, she was given shots of alcohol and was then sexually assaulted in a truck in front of the residence, according to the affidavit.
Last July, Vazquez was arrested and charged with multiple counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor and sexual solicitation of a child for allegedly giving teen girls bottles of alcohol or marijuana vape cartridges in exchange for sex.
"Uriel has been targeting underage girls across Salt Lake County. Uriel has been providing them with alcohol and weed in exchange for sex acts. Uriel has admitted to six victims, but there are currently still two victims unidentified," police noted in a 2024 arrest report.
That case was dismissed, however, on Feb. 13.
Vazquez still faces charges in a separate case filed in January. He was charged on Jan. 8 in 3rd District Court with rape and forcible sodomy, first-degree felonies; sexual exploitation of a minor and sexual solicitation of a child, second-degree felonies; and unlawful sexual activity with a minor, a third-degree felony.
In that case, he is accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl and providing her with drugs. Police searched Vazquez's phone as part of their investigation and "located approximately 50 videos of underage females engaged in sexual activity," according to charging documents.
