OGDEN — A pedestrian was hit and killed while crossing a street in Ogden Monday afternoon.
About 4 p.m., Ogden police received a report of a crash at 33rd Street and Wall Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a man dead.
Investigators believe the man had been using a crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle, but preliminary evidence indicates he was not properly using the crosswalk signals.
The driver of the vehicle involved initially left the scene but was stopped by officers a short distance away, police said.
The driver is cooperating with the investigation, police said.
Police did not release the identity of the pedestrian on Monday.
