LAYTON – Layton police are warning community members to check their $20 bills after a large amount of counterfeit cash was discovered at a Walmart.
On Dec. 24, a man used a "large number" of counterfeit $20 bills at the Walmart located at 745 W. Hill Field Rd., according to a Facebook post from the Layton Police Department.
Police said some of the counterfeit money was used as change for other customers before Walmart employees noticed the money was not genuine.
If you shopped at this Walmart location on Christmas Eve and received change in $20 bills, police urge you to compare the serial numbers against the picture they have provided of the counterfeit cash.
If you discover one of these counterfeit bills, police ask that you call 801-497-8300.
