SALT LAKE CITY — A vacant commercial building under demolition caught fire Tuesday morning.

Salt Lake Fire Capt. Brandt Hancuff said the single-story building, near the intersection of Redwood Road and North Temple, initially produced significant smoke before crews were able to knock it down with no injuries.

By 8 a.m. firefighters had extinguished the blaze and were putting out hot spots. Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire, which Hancuff says is suspicious.
