MURRAY — Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that left one person dead and two others injured near TRAX station Thursday night.

Murray police spokeswoman Kristin Reardon said just after 7 p.m., a drive-by shooting happened near the Murray North Station at the intersection of Fireclay Avenue and Birkhill Boulevard. Three people were injured.

The three victims are believed to be men and were transported to a hospital with injuries ranging from minor to serious. Upon arrival, one of the three victims had died. His name has not yet been released.

Police said the shooting was likely an isolated incident between two groups. People believed to be involved were seen leaving the area in a white, four door, passenger car, Reardon said.

The intersection was anticipated to remain for several hours throughout Thursday night into Friday morning, Reardon said. Police encourage anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who have any information to call Murray police, 801-840-4000.
