HERRIMAN — Police are investigating after they say a 16-year-old was stabbed to death inside a car in Herriman on Wednesday afternoon.
Herriman Deputy Police Chief Cody Stromberg said the stabbing occurred after an altercation on Beckenbauer Avenue about 12:30 p.m. The 16-year-old was stabbed in the chest and died after lifesaving measures were attempted.
The stabbing is thought to be related to the Valley High School graduation, and police have identified at least three adults and one juvenile who may have been involved, according to Stromberg. He said investigators found a vehicle, believed to have fled the scene, at a home in Riverton, and all four people have been detained for questioning.

The victim has not been identified.
