PLEASANT VIEW — A crash Wednesday evening involving a vehicle and a motorcycle left the motorcyclist dead, according to Lt. Stetson Talbot of the Pleasant View Police Department.

The collision occurred about 8:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of north U.S. 89, which serves as the dividing line between Pleasant View and Harrisville. Pleasant View Police Chief Ryon Hadley on Friday identified the motorcyclist as Joel Nielson, 56, and said he lived in Salt Lake County. Nielson died on the scene, according to Talbot.

The driver of the sports utility vehicle involved in the accident remained at the scene after it occurred. Police from Pleasant View, Harrisville and Ogden responded to the incident.
