CENTRAL, Washington County — A man was killed in a rollover crash in Washington County early Monday.

Washington County Sheriff's Office said a passerby saw a pickup truck pulling a trailer that had rolled off of state Route 18 just north of Central at about 5:20 a.m. Sgt. Lucas Alfred said deputies believe the pickup went off the road and rolled, ejecting the driver.

Alfred said the driver, Kerry F. Hafen, 47, was found deceased.

Speed is being investigated as a factor in the crash, but no exact cause has been determined, Alfred said. Alfred urges everyone to remember to slow down in mountain passes during the winter as roads are frequently icy.
