WEST HAVEN, Weber County — A woman was hospitalized in serious condition after sheriff's officials say she was stabbed by her husband Monday evening in Weber County.

Deputies responded to a call for an "unknown problem" just before 6 p.m. at 3330 S. Midland Drive in West Haven. When deputies arrived, they found a 29-year-old woman with stab wounds, the Weber County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

Deputies provided medical aid, then transported the woman to the hospital in serious condition.

Witnesses told deputies the woman was stabbed by her husband, 28, according to the statement. Deputies found the man, who they said had self-inflicted stab wounds, and he was also transported to a hospital in serious condition.

The couple's names have not been released.
