PROVO, Utah (AP) -- Jonathan Tavernari's game-high 25 points helped lead Brigham Young to a 91-76 win over Portland Saturday night.

The victory extended BYU's home court winning streak to 53 games, the longest current streak in the nation.

Nik Raivio's 12 first half points kept the Pilots close early. But the Cougars (10-0) used a 10-2 run just before halftime to establish a 43-33 lead and were never seriously threatened the rest of the game.

Jimmer Fredette's basket with 2:23 left in the game capped a 10-0 run that pushed BYU's lead to 90-67.

He scored 17 points for the Cougars who shot 62 percent from the field as a team. Five of their players finished in double figures.

Raivio led the Pilots (5-3) with 18. Jared Stohl added 14 including 4-of-7 from behind the 3-point line.

BYU pushed the ball all night and outscored Portland 14-0 on fast break points.
