EDEN, Weber County — Two construction workers fell off a roof in the Powder Mountain area on Thursday, critically injuring one man.
Emergency crews were dispatched to 7700 E. Horizon Run Road about 12:20 p.m., said David Reed, Weber Fire District's fire marshal. Several people were working on the roof of a tall house when two men accidentally stepped off and fell about 15 to 20 feet, Reed said.
A man in his 40s was badly hurt in the fall, sustaining head, back and neck injuries and bruising on his sternum, Reed said.
The man lost consciousness for a few minutes and was confused and dazed when emergency crews arrived. He received spinal mobilization treatment before being transferred by medical helicopter to a hospital, Reed said.
The other worker who fell refused treatment at the scene and said he was OK, Reed said.
Fire officials said they don't yet know what caused the workers to fall. The building had not collapsed.
