KAYSVILLE — The Davis Darts led from start to finish in Thursday's Region 1 title fight against the Syracuse Titans to secure a 22-10 victory.
"We go: winning mindset, winning culture, winning program and stack the dubs," head coach Scott Peery said. "And we did that tonight."
The Darts finished region play 5-0 and go into the playoffs with the most important thing for Peery: momentum.
Momentum was on their side Thursday, as well, following up a 19-point fourth quarter last week in Farmington with a 10-0 first quarter against the Titans. Sophomore quarterback Tradon Bessinger got his lone touchdown pass of the night right before halftime to go up 16-7 at the break.

The Darts defense held Syracuse to just a field goal in the second half, and Owen Talbot ran in his second touchdown of the night with 5:35 left in the game to seal the win.
"(This was) our No. 1 goal in the offseason, and just to see these guys play all year, I can't believe it," Peery said of winning the region. "I knew they could do it, but just to live this moment, man, it's good."
The Darts finish 9-1 on the season in prime position for the playoffs while Syracuse falls to 7-3 and third place in Region 1 behind Weber.
