PLEASANT GROVE — An Orem man has been arrested and accused of stabbing another man multiple times during a fight.

Alec Jesse Jones, 35, of Orem, was booked into the Utah County Jail on Wednesday for investigation of aggravated assault resulting in serious injury.

The incident occurred Tuesday at the PG Pool Hall, 15 E. Center Street. Police were notified of the stabbing when friends of the victim took him to a local hospital.

"I interviewed the victim at Utah Valley Hospital. He informed me that he had been stabbed nine times in the left back and side, resulting in many stitches, staples, and a punctured lung," the arresting officer wrote in a police booking affidavit.

The victim said he had gotten into a fight with Jones in the parking lot. A witness told investigators that "both victim and arrestee were escalating the situation, that they were yelling profanities at each other and began physically assaulting each other," the affidavit states.

At some point, the victim ended up on top of Jones inside his car. At that point, "the victim articulated he suddenly felt that he had been 'punched in the back' multiple times, although he did not know who or what had hit him," according to the affidavit. After Jones drove off, the victim realized he had been stabbed.

Jones was later located by police and arrested.
